Dermaplaning (process and benefits)

As Cher-Mère continues to expand its range of spa services, we focus on Dermaplaning. Dermaplaning is an effective and safe facial exfoliation procedure that includes the use of a sterile surgical scalpel to shave the surface of the skin. This process removes excess dead skin and peach fuzz hairs. It makes skin look and feel smoother, reducing the appearance of acne scars.

Some benefits of Dermaplaning include:

Deeper product penetration;

  • Removal of soft facial hair that traps dirt and oils;
  • Smoother skin;
  • Removal of dead skin cells and “peachfuzz”;
  • Reduction of the appearance of acne scars and fine lines;
  • Instant results and no downtime; and
  • Ability to work on all skin types

Dermaplaning should be done every three to four weeks, allowing the skin to complete its rejuvenation cycle.  The procedure removes about two to three weeks of dead skin from the facial area.

However, people who suffer from acne or have excess oil should not have dermaplaning, as the oils may cause bacteria growth, leading to acne breakouts.

At Cher-Mère, we offer Dermaplaning with facial mask application as well as Dermaplaning along with Hydrojelly Aromatherapy Facial, at our four day spas located at Robertson Street, San Fernando, Trincity Mall, Mid Centre Mall, Chaguanas and Cipriani Boulevard, Port of Spain.

We also have a kiosk at Long Circular Mall for the purchase of products and vouchers, along with skin and hair analysis and express waxing services on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
