If You have oily skin you should read this .........................................

As a fellow sufferer of  overactive sebaceous glands (oil glands) I know the struggle as people say the struggle is real when it comes to getting the oil under control. One day I had enough. Travelling home in a maxi one day and I decided to scrape the oil off with a card  just to see how much oil my face was producing. Lo and behold the results was shocking. Lets just say I was producing enough oil to cook an egg  for breakfast. No need for pricey coconut oil in the grocery right? All jokes aside this a problem a lot of us as men and women face on a daily basis especially in our tropical climate when the heat is 100 degrees on a good day.  Thankfully I work with aestheticians everyday so I got free advice on how to help!! And I have no problems with sharing it with my fellow sebaceous sufferers. Here are 3 tips on how you can reduce the amount of oil your skin produces.

Stop washing your face so Often !!! : What ? Did he just say that well how do I get rid of the oil ? remember it's not about getting rid of the oil it’s about controlling the production of the oil. It's easy to give into those OCD tendencies by washing often to get rid of the oil but have you ever thought that washing your face often might be causing your oily face in the first place ?  Yup I would have never guessed that either. You see how the skin works is, in the instance where your skin is dry the oil glands (sebaceous glands) kick into overdrive and start producing oil to keep your skin moisturised so soon after you wash all the oil off it would come right back. What you can do to combat this? Keep your face moisturised so that the glands would see no need to kick into overdrive. A nice facial moisturiser  which is WATER BASED would go a long way in controlling the oil produced and of course Cher-Mere has just the one to help you can shop it by clicking here.

Drink lots of water - Yes yet another blog telling you the importance of drinking enough water. Keeping hydrated helps the skin to maintain it's moisture during the day thus the oil glands don't have to step in to overproduce it's a simple trick but every little thing helps keep that bottle of water handy !!

Use a deep cleansing facial mask - Facial masks should become your best friends. I cannot stress the importance of having that deep cleanse. Facial masks give you a deeper cleanse than an ordinary face wash. They go deeper to remove impurities and draw out the oil in your pores. However, there is a greater risk for over drying with facial masks. Use them sparingly. Like once a week or right before a big event or date night !!! you can also try Cher-Mere’s new Spa Natural mask line you can view it by clicking here.

This list is by no means exhausted, there are so many other little tips and tricks that can help you with oil production these ones have helped me a great deal since I discovered them so I just thought i’d share them with you !!
