Moringa Drinks…...  Health and Flava !!!

In a culture where there the consumption of unhealthy drinks is on the rise we what can we do to combat this ?  Lately there has been a trend of making natural smoothies, “punches” and even infusing water with natural ingredients which obviously is the healthier option. This week wanted to give you some natural drink options for you to choose from with the main ingredient moringa. Yes we love moringa and with good reason because it is a potently nutritious ingredient. Just some facts about moringa that you can read more about in our blog about moringa by clicking here moringa has 10 times the Vitamin A of a carrot; 2 times the Vitamin C of an orange; 15 times the Potassium of a banana; 17 times the Calcium of milk; rich in chlorophyll; a good source of leafy green protein - containing 18 amino acids, 9 of which are the essential amino acids (histidine, isoleucine,leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, valine) that the body needs. Reading this why wouldn't we use this wonderful ingredient in our drinks ??

Moringa infused water 

  1. Steep  1 tsp of Moringa Powder or take about 6 moringa fresh leaves and pour 8-12 oz of boiling water over the moringa.
  2.  Allow to steep for  20 minutes .
  3. Strain or leave the moringa in the water and then add a 3 slices  of fresh cucumber
  4. Refrigerate and drink as you wish.

 

It is diuretic, refreshing, neutralising and nutrient rich. 

Moringa Smoothie

Apply  1 tsp of Moringa Powder  or 6 moringa fresh leaves to blender with 1 scoop of protein powder. and fruit(s) of your choice.  

Add 24 oz of water

Sweeten as desired with a natural sweetener e.g. agave or honey 

Blend in high powered blender Magic Bullet or Nutribullet  or bullet machine.
